Is a Civil War coming to the USA?

I sometimes hear people murmur about a US Civil War 2.0. I definitely am not advocating for this. What they have done in Gaza, they’ll do to you.

Growing up, I got the standard propaganda at school: the “good guys,” in the “North” rescued the slaves….right?

Every poor Southerner conscripted into battle was a racist fuck, right?

Looking beyond propaganda

The “Union” was the US federal government. At the start of the Civil War it had was still engaged in the “Indian Wars.” Since 1776, the US government and colonial-settlers were engaged in a brutal campaign of ethnic cleansing. They didn’t have the weapons used today, but they wiped out one tribe/nation at a time, with brutal thoroughness.

One Gaza-like atrocity at a time.

Omitted from my schools’ history books was the time Lincoln executed a record number of “Indians” in one day while President. I mean, he was a saint, right?

It was basically two sets of genocide-loving, white-supremacists: one that liked private ownership of slaves and one that wanted good PR internationally. I see no evidence that the ruling class cared about the life of a human being enslaved in the South.

Plantation owning, slave-owners did not fight in the Civil War. For the most part plantation owners were not killed by the federal government, nor did they lose their plantations.

After the Civil War former slaves transitioned to new horrors, referred to as Jim Crow. They were “free” to be hunted down and killed by gangs of white-supremacists.

Slavery didn’t end

Technically, slavery didn’t end, despite what they told me in school. In legalese the 13th Amendment says that only the government can own slaves.

“Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.”

Nixon, Reagan and Biden figured out the loop-hole in the 13th Amendment. The key word being “except.”

The government creates laws that target future slaves. No need to go to Africa. The government gathers up victims, to enforce these laws and convict/punish the people they want to enslave.

Once convicted the government has a slave. The government often rents their slaves to US corporations. US corporations don’t have to mess with housing and security, they pay the government to do it.

It started with vagrancy laws during Jim Crow.

Today’s New Jim Crow uses drug laws.

ICE uses “immigration,” as an excuse. Those detained in US private prisons are slaves under the law.

Why did soldiers pick up arms in the South?

Mostly poor people, in the South fought. Some volunteered, some didn’t. Often they were conscripted, and had to choose between being hung, or shooting at the US military. Some didn’t participate and avoided conscription.

Sometimes they only wanted to defend themselves from the federal government’s military invasion of their land. They didn’t have TV, the Internet or Twitter to find out why the government was coming to kill them.

They only wanted to live.

White-supremacy was baked into the cake of the US’s way of life, obviously. There were some who fought to make sure slavery of black people continued.

The 1%

Most land-owners in the South were not plantation owners with slaves. According to the 1860 census only 8% of property owners had slaves. Interestingly 1% of the South’s population were the ultra-rich, who owned massive plantations, with large numbers of slaves.

In school, the “Union,” or the “North” were portrayed as the moral superior. Fighting a united evil, “South.”

Expansion, not contraction

The US loves expansion. It couldn’t contract and lose Southern states. Ironically, the federal government kept buying cotton from slave owners during the Civil War. They had to make uniforms, right?

At the time, the federal government was stepping up its genocidal campaigns in the west. It was offering free land to colonial-settlers, if they removed the rightful owners (AKA “Indians”). The US offered military support to kill all the “Indians” that resisted and threatened colonial-settlers.

In school, this genocidal campaign was portrayed as a good thing. The adventurous pioneer was under attack by the “savage Indian.”

To the descendants of those mass-murdered by the US military and US citizens this “Union” was, and often still is, evil.

Many see a similar dynamic, on their social media feeds, today in Palestine. Colonial-settlers steal land. If they encounter resistance the IDF intervenes and helps the settlers. The “pioneers” didn’t have many slaves. I guess that’s a good thing? (that’s supposed to be sarcasm)

What would a Civil War 2.0 look like?

If the US had a new Civil War, it would be those who resist v. the federal government.

I’ve heard some who seem to romanticize conflict thinking it would be neighbor v. neighbor. That their team would rise up and crush the other team that is standing in the way of the USA being #1.

The truth is that the federal, state and local governments would get involved.

The federal government has Palantir which has been battle-tested in Gaza. Anyone wishing to over-throw the US government or create a new nation will die. Or at least see all their family and neighbors die.

It probably wouldn’t be a geographical dispute. What state would try to leave the US nation?

Who would want a new Revolution?

Trump wouldn’t have to worry about mid-term elections, that’s for sure. If groups of armed revolutionaries formed this summer, it would be playing into his hands.

If a state tried to leave the Union…they would be “regime changed.” Many will die.

Martial law, violence and terror

There would definitely be martial law. Trump could be like Zelinsky and call off elections, hunt down and kill all his critics. Silence the media even more.

He has demonstrated that he loves starving and bombing children. He loves to profit from genocide. He’s a dangerous man.

I would not recommend an armed rebellion. The Empire is crumbling. It will fight back with all that it has.

Perhaps waiting for it to destroy itself is the wisest action?

Those who run Epstein’s network will be happy. They won’t be exposed for another day.

The violence and chaos will be exactly what they want.
